Oh calm down, FarmVille fans, it's not like Brett Ratner is directing the upcoming 30-minute cartoon series based on your Facebook obsession. According to the Wall Street Journal he's just producing the show, so it might still be good.

Now before everyone jumps to Ratner's defense, let me just say that I admire the man for trying to pick up the pieces of the floundering X-Men film franchise and make something of it. I just feel that something was an emotionless pile of garbage, that's all. I don't blame him as much as I blame him. I guess that's the same thing.

At least it had Multiple Man in it. I love me some Multiple Man.

There will be no Multiple Man in the FarmVille animated series, however. Executive produced by Ratner along with along with Kirk Schenck, Charles Bishop and Nina Gelb for Canada's Six Eleven Media, FarmVille will likely involve people farming things—possibly multiple things—and maybe a couple men. I guess that's close enough.

"FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience," Ratner said in a statement.

Ratner also produced the TV show Prison Break, so I am expecting the cartoon to be almost exactly like that, only with more corn.
