While many composers worked on the Mass Effect soundtracks over the years, Sam Hulick and Jack Wall are the names most commonly associated with the game. Wall composed that emotional menu music that was hidden in Mass Effect 3, while Hulick composed the music that plays while navigating the galaxy map.
Both composers have gone on from Mass Effect to do big things—Jack Wall will be composing the score to the biggest game of the year, Call of Duty: Black Ops II. I've never cared for the music in Call of Duty games, Zimmer or no, so I'll be looking forward to seeing what he'll do with the music.
Just today, it was announced that Sam Hulick will be adding new music to Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, which is very exciting. It's a cool idea, since his music won't replace the now-iconic Baldur's Gate music but rather, it will accompany new parts of the game. I'll admit, I'm half excited about this news because I'm just excited about Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, but also because I'm glad to hear that the music will be in good hands.
