First Look at the Blue Nintendo Wii

Illustration for article titled First Look at the Blue Nintendo Wii

To mark the Nov. release of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Nintendo of Europe is releasing a blue Wii.

To date, Nintendo has released Wii consoles in white, black, red, and now, blue. Previously, Nintendo released a blue Wii Remote in Japan to promote Wii Sports Resort. It is releasing a pink Wii Remote this Nov. in Japan.

Smart money says pink is the next Wii console color. Though, c'mon Nintendo, release the Wii in lime green.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games will hit Nov. 18 in Europe and Nov. 15 in the U.S. No word about a U.S. release.

Cool Wii, but why bundle it with a terrible* game?

*Don't actually know if terrible, but if I recall correctly, the first M&S was meh and this will likely be so, too. Mario's in everything and Sonic has probably lost the respect of the gaming community at large. The combo has been in much cooler games already (BRAWL) so whatever hype there might be left in this pairing is already significantly drained by games people actually care about.
