Ordinarily I'd give this the "About to Get a Letter" treatment, but you know, maybe this thing is licensed. And good luck getting a letter to a carny, anyway.
Reader GHETTO CHiLD spotted "Mario Land" at the N.C. State Fair (largest midway of any state fair in the U.S., you can look that up.) It's not the only video game brand with a presence there. There's a Guitar Hero tournament - likely being held on a much more official basis - over in Dorton Arena this coming Saturday.
Nostalgia break: Dorton is where we'd get bombed trying to drink one beer in the first period, two in the second and three in the third during the old IceCaps games, before the Hurricanes came to town. Before you get all macho, this is a lot harder than it sounds. You can do it in the minor league arenas if they don't cut off beer sales, but they're rare these days. In the NHL, forget it.
Anyway, in some parts of the country it's still state fair season so, folks, if you see wacky video game stuff in-between bites of deep-fried snickers bars - rides, costumes, prizes, who knows - feel free to send them in. Just flag the subject header so we know what you're talking about.
