Lego’s previously announced X-Files set finally has a release date, a price, and a fun trailer showing it off. The set includes eight minifigures, including Mulder and Scully (of course), but, more surprisingly, it also includes a Flukeman minifig. I never expected I’d get a chance to own an official Flukeman Lego minifig, but here we are.
On July 21, Lego released a live-action trailer starring Dana Scully actress Gillian Anderson being mysteriously delivered an early copy of the upcoming X-Files set (21369). If you, like me, grew up watching the original X-Files show in the ’90s at way too young an age, this video featuring Anderson will likely put a smile on your face. I especially love the moment where she snaps on a medical examiner glove again and fondly mentions how much she missed that sound.
As for the upcoming X-Files set, well, it launches in August and contains 1,478 pieces. It’s priced at $200, which isn’t too bad considering how nice it all looks. The set features a Lego recreation of Mulder’s iconic office, and above that is a forest scene with a large, black UFO hovering above it. Poke around the screenshots on Lego’s site to spot some Easter eggs and details included just for X-Files fans.

As mentioned earlier, the set includes eight new minifigs, including Mulder, Scully, Skinner, a grey alien, and the Cigarette Smoking Man. However, the real star of this X-Files set is a Flukeman minifig. I truly can’t believe how good this minifig looks, or that we’re even getting it at all. But I guess if you had to pick one monster-of-the-week to recreate in mini Lego form, Flukeman is the best choice. A truly bizarre, gross, and famous character who appeared only once in season two of the show. But that one appearance was enough, and he’s gone on to become one of the franchise’s most famous monsters. Good for you, Flukeman, you weirdo.
