EverQuest Next's In-Game Terraforming Is Downright Hypnotizing

That the developers can hop into EverQuest Next and transform a barren landscapes into complicated structures in real-time is almost as cool as knowing players will be able to do it too, once EverQuest Next Landmark launches later this year.

This trio of videos aren't in real-time, obviously, but they do demonstrate the tools developers are using to shape the new Norrath, the same tools players will be using to shape whatever patches of land they manage to claim in Landmark.

It's all thanks to the games' voxel-based build. Normally complicated structures like these are built in an external editor and then inserted into the game. No need for that here.

Maybe I won;t ever play EverQuest Next. It'll be enough to just wander around Landmark, watching magic happen.
