Not surprisingly, Elon Musk didn’t like The Boys‘ season 5 finale. It might have been because of how things end for its fascist superhero chad, Homelander. Or it might be because the Amazon Prime series’ final episode took a quick swipe at the weirdo billionaire before signing off.
The Boys season 5, episode 8 randomly introduces an entirely new character called GĆ¼nter Van Ellis. He’s the richest man in the world. He has 17 children. He’s an amateur astronaut. And he wears a black Homelander hat that is a spitting image of the MAGA one Elon Musk has worn in the past. And since The Boys takes a crowbar to subtlety, the Musk stand-in tells Homelander he’s worries about white fertility rates.
But even the sociopathic supe doesn’t have time for GĆ¼nter. He whisks him away to space where he dies offscreen. The whole bit lasts less than a minute.

Musk responded to the finale by calling its ending “pathetic.” Showrunner Erik Kripke responded by saying “Iāll never get a better review ever.” The cast, including Antony Starr (Homelander), Jack Quade (Hughie), and Valorie Curry (Firecracker), responded on Instagram by laughing hysterically.
Elon Musk responded by making sure everyone knew how not mad he was about the whole thing.

“I didnāt watch the show tbh,” he wrote. Then he added that “Kripke probably got flack from his wifeās bf for Homelander being used in based memes and had to write that ending as a groveling apology.” Musk later added, “I’m not upset, just remarking that the ending sounds fake and gay.” Then he kept tweeting about it.
In-between his racist crash-outs over Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and reenacting the most famous dril meme ever, Musk had time to oversee another failed SpaceX rocket launch. Nicki Minaj was at this one for some reason, I guess. Musk is now promising to send a crytpo billionaire to Mars. I hope they all fling themselves into the sun as soon as possible.
