If more story is what you’re looking for from infamous alpha dude Duke Nukem, you’re in luck. Duke’s getting his own comic book mini-series courtesy of IDW Publishing, the same folks responsible for Mr. Nukem’s four-color adventure in the Duke Nukem Forever “Balls of Steel” Edition

Coming this July is Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard, a Duke-starring, time-traveling adventure that sends the venerable ass-kicker back to the World War II era. The comic’s writer, Tom Waltz, tells Comic Book Resources that Duke is asked by a former French Resistance operative—once codenamed “The French Tickler”—to travel back to 1945 to ensure an Allied victory against Nazi and/or aliens.

“Duke, always ready to kick alien tail-anyplace, anytime-agrees, and is swept back in time to face down the extraterrestrial scourge (and find out just exactly why the French woman calls herself ā€˜the French Tickler’ while he’s there),” Waltz says. Maybe she tickled her enemies as some form of torture? No idea.

Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard, which features art by up-and-coming artist Xermanico, hits in July, a month after Duke Nukem Forever is slated to hit the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
