If more story is what you're looking for from infamous alpha dude Duke Nukem, you're in luck. Duke's getting his own comic book mini-series courtesy of IDW Publishing, the same folks responsible for Mr. Nukem's four-color adventure in the Duke Nukem Forever "Balls of Steel" Edition.

Coming this July is Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard, a Duke-starring, time-traveling adventure that sends the venerable ass-kicker back to the World War II era. The comic's writer, Tom Waltz, tells Comic Book Resources that Duke is asked by a former French Resistance operative—once codenamed "The French Tickler"—to travel back to 1945 to ensure an Allied victory against Nazi and/or aliens.

"Duke, always ready to kick alien tail-anyplace, anytime-agrees, and is swept back in time to face down the extraterrestrial scourge (and find out just exactly why the French woman calls herself ‘the French Tickler' while he's there)," Waltz says. Maybe she tickled her enemies as some form of torture? No idea.

Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard, which features art by up-and-coming artist Xermanico, hits in July, a month after Duke Nukem Forever is slated to hit the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
