Valve artist Max Aristov shared renders of a couple of Dota character models with a very high polygon count. And even without textures, they look like real-life sculptures or minifigs from a board game, not something from a MOBA.
Maybe one day technology and PCs will catch up, and instead of the current low-poly models, we’ll have similar depth of detail even in MOBAs.
