Music from A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J and Ludacris are among the songs unveiled today that will be appearing on the upcoming hip hop game Def Jam Rapstar.

Coming October 5th to the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, Rapstar will include more than 40 songs and a number of producers. Producers will be providing instrumental beats for the game's freestyle mode.

Here's a full run down of today's new musicians and producers.

A Tribe Called Quest's Scenario, Big Pun featuring Joe with Still Not A Player, Jim Jones' We Fly High, LL Cool J's Mama Said Knock You Out, Ludacris' Stand Up, Onyx's Slam, RUN DMC's Run's House.

New producers confirmed are Cool & Dre's Epidemic and DJ Khalil's The Good Doctor.

I love hip-hop music, and I love music games. That said, I don't see this being a big hit.

Everyone loves singing along to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Queen and ABBA. (...right?) Even if you completely suck at it (and let's face it, most of us do), it's still good clean fun. Rapping is only fun if you're good at it. Nobody wants to hear you mumble along to LL or Big Pun.

I'm sure the developers are handling this game with the utmost care, but if the concept is flawed, the execution won't matter much.
