David Milch, whose credits include some of my personal television favorites like Deadwood, NYPD Blue and Hill Street Blues, will be adapting Playstation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain into a feature film with Warner Bros., Variety reports.

Milch will be working with Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne to turn Heavy Rain the movie into Rain the movie once he's finished the first season of HBO's Luck.

"David Milch's incredible ability to transform intense and complex storylines into gripping, popular drama makes him the perfect partner for us to have on 'Heavy Rain,' " Shaye told Variety.

DISCUSSION

I have no problem with a Heavy Rain movie, but please, for the love of God, keep the EXACT plot from the game. I'm tired of seeing video game movies ruined because the people involved know nothing about the source material, and simply don't care.

Heavy Rain's plot, pacing, and characters were all masterful. Hell, the game felt like it could've been a movie the whole time I was playing it. All they'd have to do to make it nearly perfect would be to remove some of the side villains, and voila, you're good to go.

Also, get Normand Corbeil to compose. His score was one of the best I've ever heard in a video game, and comparable to some of the best the movie industry has to offer.
