Church Bribes Easter Service Attendees With 3DS And Other Electronic "Crap"

Elk River, Minnesota Pastor Eric Dykstra has "no problem bribing people with crap in order to meet Christ," which is why hitting up The Crossing Church for Easter Sunday services could win you a Nintendo 3DS.

Easter Sunday should be one of the biggest church days of the year. When I was younger it was a day that started out with chocolate, took a serious Christ detour, and then ended with ham, a combination I was fine with. Today it seems more and more people are skipping Jesus and going straight to the ham. Pastor Eric Dykstra and The Crossing Church has amassed $8.000 worth of swag in order to bribe people to come to church on Sunday.

"It's awkward to say 'hey come to my church.' It just feels weird and you don't want to twist somebody's arm so to kind of alleviate some of that weirdness what we've done is said hey if you bring your friend to church they might potentially win a 3D television, a 3DS or a 3D movie ticket package," Dykstra said.

Due largely to the Nintendo 3DS and a great deal less to the celebration of the rebirth of Christ, The Crossing Church expects between 5,000 to 6,000 people attending the Easter Sunday service.
