Chrono Trigger *Might* Be Coming To The Nintendo DS

We know that the very suggestion of a Chrono Trigger port, remake or sequel for just about any platform (that isn't a mobile phone) might just make your head swim or various body parts explode with delight. Therefore, we'd like to ask that you sit down for the duration of this post. Pregnant women and those operating heavy machinery are advised not to read further. Instead, a friend read it to you.

Okay, here's the deal. We're hearing that in the new issue of Jump magazine, Square Enix has announced Chrono Trigger DS for a Winter release in Japan. Currently, that rumor and a very shady scan is all we got. Rock gently while repeating to yourself "This is a rumor, this is a rumor" until we get some sort of confirmation.

Thanks to Jay and Tim for the heads up.

@Foxstar Sixtail:

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 1 and 2 are just insanely childish games, man. You've played them, I assume, so I'm not gonna spell it out in excessive detail, but the tone and feel of those games is just very...kid-ish. The whole "little kid in a fantasy world somehow manages to save the planet via the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP" thing is a trope I've never liked. I didn't like it in anime, I didn't like it in Blue Dragon, and I don't like it now.

Hell, the only reason I play Kingdom Hearts is nostalgia, and I enjoy the battle system.

But when you ask about mature Square Enix games? Tactics, the original, definitely. FF6 is pretty mature, considering all the shit that happens. Hell, 12 is mature, even though I'm not a fan of the characters or the battle system.

I dunno, man. I just feel like you're labelling me a fanboy because I don't like something you like.
