With a Best Supporting Actor nomination under his belt, Jake Gyllenhaal's status as a serious actor has been cemented. But he doesn't necessarily want to only be a serious actor. Because in the upcoming Prince of Persia, he's Chesty Jake.
And Gyllenhaal seems to be totally contend with his role in the upcoming adventure flick. "I think about kids saying 'you're the Prince of Persia!' That I wouldn't mind being locked into," says the 29 year-old thespian.
How about adults saying 'Chesty Jake'? That's cool too, right? Hope so!
While the actor and his British co-star Gemma Arterton have signed on for a sequel, the film's producers say that a sequel depends on how well the first film does.
Gyllenhaal also would like to be taken "a little less seriously" as an actor. In an industry where almost everybody takes themselves too seriously, kudos to him for that.
The Prince of Persia opens this month.
