Curvy bikini pin-ups Chiaki Kyan, Maria Tainaka, Imao, Tsumi Kanna, and Mitsue Saitoh comprise the group, which dress in skimpy sheer-through outfits and dance.

Regular Kotaku readers will know Imao as a model who previously covered her face with an anime mask.

I am a bit saddened to see such lovely young women put on display in such a manner. I know, I know, it sounds prudish — a state of mind that I am usually a million miles from — but it seems that Japan feels the need to hypersexualize everything.

I understand that the game is a fantasy simulator, yet I find it excessive to pin actual women, displayed on-stage in so shamelessly titillating outfits, to the in-game anime (hentai?) characters. Every culture in the world objectifies women — and with good reason, considering that so many of them are amongst the most amazingly beautiful creations of our little planet. Nevertheless, it usually isn't quite so... blatant in marketing campaigns.

I'm fortunate enough to be married to an amazingly beautiful woman myself, so perhaps I simply cannot relate to the issue or the game's core audience.
