Boing Boing's Mark Frauenfelder, out of curiosity to see if there was a way his young daughter could watch Game of Thrones with him, googled the term "censored game of thrones".
And whaddya know, such a thing existed.
People have gone to the trouble of taking complete seasons of HBO's smash hit show, carefully editing out the worst parts, then collecting the remains and releasing them on torrent sites.
What's most interesting about this isn't just the fact it's being done, but what's being cut and what's staying behind. One uploader says "All of the nudity has been removed, some extreme swearing removed, and some other small things," have been taken out.
Now, if you've seen the show, you'd know that alongside the nudity and swearing is a lot of violence. It's weird that copious amounts of throat-cutting and claret splatter get to stay while female breasts are the thing that's got to go.
