Mavis Beacon may be the world's most famous typing teacher, but her indie cred pales in comparison to Adam Atomic and the nameless jumpman of Canabalt, which now features a white-knuckle edutainment mode.

The beautifully minimal Canabalt now offers a handful of new control options in its Flash-based online version—trying to learn typing on the iPhone version could officially be classified as torture. If you've learned all that you can from Ms. Beacon or found Mario Teaches Typing lacking in the can-do independent spirit you require from your instructional video games, give it a shot.
