Charlie Intel—via callofduty.4players.de and N4G—reports that a PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II's Hardened Edition has broken cover several weeks early. It looks like the special edition of Activision's hotly-anticipated military FPS was legitimately purchased ahead of time in Slovakia.

DISCUSSION

Did Sony ever banned someone for playing a game online too early? Anyway, this was a legit sale while Halo 4 wasn't even shipped to retailers (besides review copies) before Oct. 24th:

"Thanks to non-disclosure agreements, Peluso's Polygon interview marks the only time he's contractually allowed to talk about what he saw before the game releases. Even now, as this story goes live before the game ships, he can't repeat the things we just quoted him saying. Such is Microsoft's security for Halo 4 testing."
