BlizzCon 2010 Closes Tenaciously

Blizzard couldn't possibly top the live Ozzy Osbourne concert that closed out BlizzCon 2009, but a concert by Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D comes pretty damn close.

As Kotaku's official envoy to BlizzCon, I'm tingly all over that Jack Black and Kyle Gass, the duo otherwise known as Tenacious D, will be the closing ceremonies entertainment for the 2010 show. Tenacious D formed in 1994, rose to power with their hit HBO show Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth, and went on to release their own movie, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny.

For our readers that might not have any idea what I am talking about, here's a video:

Not only are they hilarious, they have the musical talent to make it work. Hopefully Blizzard will let me get close enough to touch them before calling security.

"The best way to wrap up two days of epic entertainment is with an epic rock concert-and few bands fit the bill like Tenacious D," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're looking forward to a great show and can't wait to see what Jack and Kyle have in store for everyone attending BlizzCon and watching from home."

For those of you not attending the show, Blizzard is once again offering the virtual BlizzCon experience through the internet or DIRECTV for $40. You can check out the BlizzCon website for details.

Damn! This leaves me only a week and several days to work on my Wonder Boy costume!

Edit: Fixed Kyle Gass's name. I always want to write Glass. He should change it.
