StarCraft II players currently on the free multiplayer gravy train are in for a bit of good news/bad news. First the bad: StarCraft II's multiplayer beta is nearing its end and will shut down May 31. The good news?

After a hiatus planned to last "several weeks while [Blizzard] make[s] some hardware and software configuration changes," a new beta will kick off. According to a post on the official Battle.net forums, Blizzard plans to "bring the beta test back online for a couple of weeks prior to the game's launch to complete our testing."

We'd say stock up on all the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta matches your computer can store, but that would sound like we don't know how these things work. Perhaps we should just say to get it out of your system before Blizzard pulls the plug.
