In Japan, voice actresses aren't just voice actresses. They're voice actress idols. Take Chiaki Takahashi — she's in a candy-coated pop band and poses for pin-up pics.
For many Japanese fans, it is important that voice actresses are as cute as the characters they portray.
Takahashi has done loads of anime voice work as well as lending her vocal talents to fighting game BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, voicing Litchi Faye Ling, and pop idol simulator THE iDOLM@STER, voicing Azusa Miura.
She's also lending her other talents to Sabra (think Maxim for Japan). The 32-year-old voice actress has even claimed to be 23 years old in the mag.
There's a video, too! We recommend only watching the first ten seconds or so — just to see her voice acting in action. We were to freaked out to finish the rest of it. Sorry!
