Today is my eleventh marriage anniversary. Tomorrow is my tenth wedding anniversary. I loved Trish so much when I met her that I married her twice. The first time was in a court house in Florida. I slipped a giant sour apple green candy ring on her finger when the judge married us. One year and one day later Trish and I got married at a church in El Paso, Texas. The florist and baker argued over the cake. The band was missing the singer and my brother made my parents cry with his toast. But the only thing I can picture in my head from that day is my wife’s smile.
I’m taking tomorrow off to spend the day looking at that smile… if I’m lucky. Have fun in the tower without me.
