It’s been almost two weeks since publisher EA shut down BioWare and canceled the next Mass Effect game. If the whole completely avoidable disaster wasn’t sad enough, this was right before November 7, N7 Day, when the studio annually held a celebration of all things Mass Effect. And from the looks of it, BioWare had some brand deals lined up for the week. ow a lot of companies BioWare was collaborating with are gonna have to awkwardly parade out new merchandise and sales while fans are graffittiing the words ā€œSave Mass Effectā€ on EA’s lawn.

Youtooz, a collectible line that collaborates with brands across all sides of pop culture, has released Mass Effect figures before, and is teasing new ones of Mordin, Joker, and Liara days before N7 Day.

Insert Coin, a collectible and clothing store, is re-upping its Mass Effect line, including jackets, shirts, and other accessories.

The Moor-Art Gallery is also hinting at some kind of art collection featuring Mass Effect characters on its social media for a November 6 reveal.

N7 Day isn’t until Saturday, so it’s entirely possible we’ll see more merchandise and sales sprout up in the days to come. But while fans might have been more than willing to pay for these a few weeks ago, BioWare’s shutdown and the ongoing #SaveMassEffect movement means that fans will be less likely to pony up for something that will only benefit EA as the license holder, even though these deals have likely been in place since months before the studio was shuttered.Ā

If BioWare was planning on going pretty hard for N7 Day this year, it likely also would have talked more about the game that would have been Mass Effect: Universe, but instead, we’ve gotten waves of information about it through things such as a leaked internal pitch trailer and devs sharing details about how it would have connected to the original trilogy. While the studio is gone, fans are using N7 Day to continue pushing the #SaveMassEffect campaign, including a coordinated plan to try to raise the Legendary Edition remasters’ concurrent players on Steam as a sign that people still care about the franchise.Ā
