It’s been a busy month for Physint, Hideo Kojima’s potential long-awaited successor to Metal Gear Solid. After an awkward breakup that saw the Sony-backed project transferred to PlayStation rival Xbox, an update for the espionage thriller was shared at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Now actor Bill Skarsgård has shared a video to reaffirm his personal excitement for the project.
Skarsgård is best known for his role as the evil clown Pennywise in the most recent adaptations of Stephen King’s It, and his involvement in Physint was revealed during the Xbox showcase at TGS. While we still have no real idea what the game will be about, or what kind of gameplay it will feature, Skarsgård shared his trust in Kojima in a brief new video clip shared online on September 18.

“I will be appearing in Physint, a brand-new, original video game created and developed by the great Hideo Kojima,” Skarsgård said while definitely not reading off of a script provided to him by Kojima Productions. “I’m a huge fan of Hideo’s and I have been ever since I was a child, so I’m very excited to embark on this creative journey together with him. He is a true pioneer and an auteuer in the video game field, and someone who really blends cinema and video game, so I’m very excited about this.”
Skarsgård was born the same year Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake came out, and his age makes it likely that Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty would have been his first real experience with a newly released entry in the popular franchise. He was first photographed appearing at Kojima’s game studio over a year ago. Skarsgård stars in Physint alongside Charlee Fraser, Ma Dong-seok, and Minami Hamabe. The game’s tagline is “The Next Cold War Begins.”
