Bill Roper — one of the forces behind Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo — defected to Cryptic Studios back in 2008 to work on Champions Online and Star Trek. He has recently stated that he's leaving Cryptic, but hasn't given specifics.
It's because Champions killed their game by trying to enforce copyrights on player created heroes. They even contacted me about a position, but managing a community as angry as that is not really possible
The Marvel Universe sure as hell had some eerily similar heroes and villains, I'm not sure how they couldn't have found a loophole to avoid deleting the characters that their users spent so much time to create.
Big no no, an exit strategy seems like the first good decision that's been made.
