Management shake-up at Battlefield Hardline developer Visceral Games: general manager Steve Papoutsis (Dead Space) is out, replaced by Scott Probst (son of former veteran EA exec Larry Probst), Kotaku has learned. “We are thankful for Steve’s many contributions to EA and wish him the best,” said an EA rep.

That feels a bit shitty, but if we look at the reception of the games Visceral has put out, there has been a pretty standard decline. Plus, the current situation with the political reception of Hardline and people’s misgiving’s about its portrayal of militarized police force, EA has the evidence that perhaps the Steve Papoutsis wasn’t really up for the task of what they have next on board.

And, just cause this guy is the son of a past exec doesn’t mean he isn’t capable or didn’t earn his seat either.
