Dead Rising Remaster
The original Dead Rising blew my mind back in the early 00’s on Xbox 360. I had never seen that many zombies on screen at once! And setting a zombie game in a mall was genius.
Everyone has seen (or is aware of) Dawn of the Dead and the movie’s similar mall setting, and everyone has at one point thought about what it would be like to hole up in a mall while zombies attack. Dead Rising lets you live out that scenario, and the remaster lets you do it again, but now everything looks better, the game runs at 60FPS, and you can move and aim. If you liked Dead Rising, the new remaster is that game but better in a lot of ways—that’s more than enough to get it on this list. — Zack Zwiezen
