Familiarity is underrated in video games. Sometimes, I don't want anything new or crazy. Sometimes, I just want to play Bayonetta again since the original game was already awesome.
Thankfully, it looks like that's what Bayonetta 2 is shaping up to be...plus some added surfing levels, which are always are a good thing, in my book:
GameXplain got an extended look at the upcoming Wii U exclusive and posted a few videos with new footage and their impressions on the game. The main takeaway? It's more Bayonetta. And that's a good thing, because Bayonetta is one of those rare games that hasn't been done to death despite the original's popularity and critical acclaim.
Fans of the original 2009 game will recognize a lot in the above videos. There's the same fast-paced combo-based combat that made Bayonetta satisfying in that visceral God of War-type way. And despite her new, shorter 'do, the eponymous star is still rocking the same salacious leather outfit and hair-based attacks that gamers know and love.
So yeah: I'm pretty excited for Bayonetta 2. Let's just hope that nothing goes wrong with the Wii U GamePad.
