It reminds me of how folks love Far Cry 2 so much because you can REALLY screw yourself in that game and usually still make it work. I like when games let me make a mistake or spec one way and realize that I just made this next fight harder, but it is still doable. Read more

I haven’t unlocked all the subskills for abilities. A good chunk of them, but not all of them. I honestly forgot about them because most of them seem bad/not what I want from those abilities. Still, being able to get them all, even if it takes a chunk of time, is weird to me. But like I said in another comment, I Read more

I hope you feel better and I hope you make something really stupid and funny!!  Read more

I think games should at least make it possible to respec IF they are going to make it so you can only use very specific builds to win. BUT I would rather a game be more open to more builds. Especially being able to let players who do a balanced build finish, because some folks might not fully understand making a Read more

I don’t want perfect builds either. I think New Vegas does a good job of offering players many possible builds. Some are harder than others, but you beat the game using most builds. But if a game forces you into one of three builds, that sucks too!  Read more

A good respec helps a lot. And I also totally respect some folks just don’t want to make multiple builds or characters.  Read more

I haven’t yet! Getting ready to. But from reading online you can unlock all 3 and swap between them freely eventually. Still excited to pick my first one.  Read more

Just to make something clear for some folks: This is my opinion and thoughts on game design. If you LIKE getting everything, cool. You will notice in this post I don’t think you are evil nor bad for that or do I think devs should be punished for giving players everything. Read more

No. I just collected tons of caches in each area to liberate them and finish those safe house projects. Plus many missions award you extra tech too.  Read more

What? That’s not my point. Making choices matter, for me at least, enriches the whole game. Knowing I’m limited and each perk I unlock is important makes the game feel more interesting for me and really makes me want to play again with a new build/character. Read more

I think this issue can be solved by letting players respec once during the game.  Read more

During the early hours it matters more, but later on, I felt so bored making perk choices. And I never felt compelled to make a new character because I had already experienced all the perks and how they work. Read more

My problem was that in less than 10 hours or so I had all the perks I could have until I hit 30. The moment I hit 30, well before beating the main story, I had everything already with a TON of leftover tokens. Read more

I was going to mention the Deus Ex series, but I’m not as familiar with those games. But yeah, getting everything just feels boring at times. Read more

I will always prefer being forced to make hard choices to create specific builds. Makes the game more memorable and interesting to me.  Read more

Sorry! Hopefully, a future post will be more to your liking Shawn! Read more

Playing 5 isn’t necessary. All you need to know is that in 5 there was a weird cult, they got nearly wiped out and the world did get wiped out by a nuke at the end. Read more

That’s a great price for that game! I really enjoyed it. Hope you do too!!  Read more

I was actually planning on writing about the soundtrack. Or at least want to. It is really good and yet it so easy to never hear much of it.  Read more

I actually grew up and lived most of my preteens in Florida and yeah.. it was a bit strange. But I also barely remember Florida at this point so I just sort of assumed there was something like that up near the panhandle. I lived in Deltona, so I always assumed the top of the state was some weird crazy place where it Read more
