I loved the original on Android. What a delightful surprise to see it discussed in full here.

“I got this wrong, and I take responsibility for that.””

No, Mark, you are making 11,000 other people take responsibility for that. You are taking no responsibility. Read more

It would actually be kind of neat if a game had “skippable” bosses, but before releasing it they recorded the gameplay of one of the game staff who is good at the boss from having to fight it a thousand times during testing and played that as an unskippable cutscene. Read more

I had an epiphany earlier this year.  There is not a single game that has had a boss fight I’ve liked.  Not one.  Boss fights only serve to kill momentum.  Contrary to popular belief, they don’t actually test what you’ve learned up to that point.  They’re almost always just a test of how fast you can not get hit by Read more

Listen, sometimes you “get” it and just want to move on with the whole thing. I was playing Psychonauts 2 recently, and while I really liked the game, there was one boss that took me like 3-4 tries, and the whole sequence of defeating it was pretty long and bland, and regardless of how far you made it, you had to Read more

But a simple screenshot and MS Paint tells me Read more

My parents have a story about how we would play Kings Quest (1) on the PCjr when I was really young... This was before I could spell/type, so I would suggest a command and my mom would type it in. When you visited the screens near the witch’s house, she would sometimes randomly appear and would kill you if you didn’t Read more

WHEN TWO TRAINER’S EYES MEET, A BATTLE MUST BEGIN! Read more

I usually engage Trainers first, but I’m going to engage them even harder now. I’m going to hunt down every one of those shorts-loving, overly Skitty-obsessed weirdoes. Heck- if two players can challenge the same NPC at the same time, I’d actually use multiplayer to give ‘em the old Trainer Trap. This kind of behavior

A tester, eh? Well you’re to blame for these massive bugs I found in the game, then, I take it???

For people who refuse to understand the issue here, ill try to aproach it from another angle  Read more

It’s a distinction without a difference when revenue is used to recoup development costs. Money invested in the production of a video game that sells at an unprofitable price point is, yes, money lost. Maybe at a certain volume of sales that type of thing becomes profitable, but it’s obviously going to be harder to Read more
