I've been there. I don't have much to say except that if you ever get the chance to go. Go!
It's one of the wierdest and most eerie places I've been, but it's well worth the visit. Went there for a two day private guided tour a few years ago.

It's a shame they've put a tent over the reactor now, but going there you

Fascinating. I always wonder how amazing it would be if game companies built real world locations identical to iconic locations in games, like, say, walking through a life-sized Temple of Time or castle from Super Mario 64. Of course, this would be a huge undertaking and probably only be justifiable if they made a Read more

I really must get back to finishing stalker one of these days. Always figured that in real-life you could ask the wish-granter to cure your tumours if you got lost or stupid enough to get that close to the actual reactor complex, or pile of glowing concrete if you prefer... Read more

Beasts are always male, while more seductive or sensual characters like vampires etc are always female for me. Read more

The "nicer looking outfits for female toons" is really interesting. Thinking about it, I'd agree—but personally, I find that the majority of the time, the male character models just look cooler or are more customizable (most notably in scifi or fantasy settings). Ie, the beast-race male character gets wild horns or Read more

As a woman, I find that I most often play male characters—not to dissuade men from hitting on me (though inversely from your experience, I sometimes find people who are surprised I'm female because of my character choices) but rather because I most often find that the male character models just look better, especially Read more

I have no set avatar when it comes to MMOs or games where you can create your character. Gender and race vary. I can go from playing men to women to robots to aliens to walking blast furnaces, teenagers to elderly to immortal characters, rich to poor, of varying sexualities, so on and so forth. Read more

I'm a man who plays as an italian who plays as a cat in games.

Great read! I personally have gone back and forth between the two sexes in gaming but never for any aesthetics if, and only if, the game's virtual armory of apparel was bountiful and of high quality for both sexes. More often then not, I notice a lot of these online games, especially MMOs, have more of their team work Read more
