It’s not something that can be easily done, unfortunately. Whenever we post partial transcripts that’s me or Maddy sitting down and transcribing the podcast ourselves. Read more

I appreciate that, but please do know that none of this would be possible without all of my talented, hard-working colleagues here at Kotaku. We are a team in so many ways, and none of these stories are single-person efforts, ever. Read more

Trust me when I tell you that unlike me literally every time I fly someplace in Outer Wilds, this game sticks the landing. Read more

If I had to guess, I’d say that it’ll be their big focus at E3 2020 and then we’ll see it that fall. That’s just a guess, though! No inside info here. Read more

They’re 140 people in two locations, Chicago and Orlando, and as we discuss in the podcast, you probably haven’t heard of them but you’ve probably played a port they worked on! Read more

I think you’d be hardpressed to find anyone who thinks that there shouldn’t be a second of overtime in game development. It’s tough to schedule “finding the fun,” and no amount of buffer can account for every possible factor that goes into making something great. The problem is that the video game industry is built on Read more

Problem is, I’ve talked to a lot of Blizzard people over the past few months and one of the things I’ve heard quite a bit is that Activision doesn’t see any money in real-time strategy games. :( Read more

I have no idea whether the cancelation is good news or bad news, but it bums me out as a StarCraft fan - what this means is that AFAIK there’s nothing StarCraft-related in development right now. This would be true if it wasn’t the one studio that made the one isometric RPG that’s come closest to surpassing Baldur’s Gate 2's greatness!!! Read more

Didn’t you notice me delaying TLOU2 in the same post, though? Read more

You’re right that I don’t get to interview many politicians, so I had to spar a bit when I got the chance! (Video game executives barely do interviews with press these days, which is too bad - I’d love to sit down with Andrew Wilson or Bobby Kotick for a chat.) Read more

You should listen to the podcast, but short version: There’s a big difference between burning down the Red Keep and indiscriminately killing civilians. This would be a whole different conversation if Daenerys had gone straight for Cersei, killing innocents in her quest to kill the woman who usurped the throne and Read more

I would expect TLOU2 this fall (unless it’s delayed), Ghost of Tsushima in early 2020, and the PS5 in late 2020. I’m sure both games will have “enhanced” PS5 versions, but they’ll both be on PS4 first. Read more
