It’s so early in the prologue and such a Nier Automata-esque joke ending that I’m more than comfortable posting this.  Read more

The coffee sip is actually one of my taunts. Took me from an S to SS on my combo. Read more

True story is that I like DMC more than Bayonetts but is also like Metal Gear Rising more than anything. 🤣 Read more

Yeah! This is why I have that skill in my recommendations. I was practicing last night and it was pretty lenient. Just gotta get in the habit now. Read more

I’ll go to bat for DmC. The definitive edition is good and the game has better level design than a lot of the other game. I don’t know what makes a thing “proper” besides White Hair On Dante, but in retrospect I’d say DmC is fine for what it is. Itsuno seems to think so too, since he considered making a sequel to it.

The complication to that is seeing how things are handled on the higher difficulties. I don’t think this game is too generous in the ranking though; I’d like to think more positively and suggest that the gameplay is just That Damn Intuitive, Y’know? Read more

I have impressions coming later today. Short version: no.

Complicated version: no, but I want to play all of it and pick it apart because there’s still interesting stuff here. Read more

Thanks, friend. This was a real fun one and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Super excited to play on the unlocked hard mode and really get good! Read more

Depends on what you’re looking for? Devil May Cry 3 is probably the best game in the series, and a good story entry point. But this is totally valid to grab if you just want to get a good DMC experience and fun combat. The story does assume that you know who All These Folks Are, though. Read more

To leap off of this, it was such a non-factor as to be basically invisible. You retain any orb you earn even if you die and head back to a checkpoint. There’s so many orbs that you literally get a weapon that uses orbs as ammo. It’s an orb-a-palooza, buddy. Read more

It also doesn’t mean folks need to freak out if other people are disappointed. If it doesn’t bother you, that’s fine.

Ubisoft, especially pre-release, were saying one thing about how the game would handle player’s sexual expression. They did another here, and seem to have acknowledged it given they’re willingness to Read more

This is pretty disrespectful to the countless players who had their characters forced to act in a way contrary to how they’d done things. Particularly LGBTQA players who were blindsided into this.

It’s not a matter of offensive. It’s a matter of respecting players and their approaches. This plot point failed to do Read more

Honestly, there’s no separation between those two things. The game is the narrative and the narrative is the game.  Read more

I didn’t say anything “must” have been the case with ACO. I said the scale made me wonder enough about the design process to motivate enough to ask for details. Which I did.

With Anthem, I’m 100% with you that this game had good fundamentals but I also think criticisms about the structure and release are *incredibly* Read more

Hell, it’s almost as if this current cultural event inspired me to write about things that have been lingering in my mind since at least 2015.  Read more

Right. The results of a navigational error would grow exponentially worse the more distance they cover on a potential return. Read more

Someone can correct me here but as I understand it the issue is that he lacks the fuel to make a jump (that is, not supercruise but a much faster direct jump) into a known system. Read more

I feel ya. I like this game a lot, but I also have some quibbles since I’m a real diehard fan of the original. I’m unsure about the messaging of the DLC but I also wouldn’t be surprised if we get a few other things. Resident Evil 7 was really good with that. I didn’t really have many expectations at the end of the Read more

Yeah, I definitely would have like some more story here. One of the things I think makes REmake strong compared to Resident Evil 2 is how it managed to expand on the lore and setting while honoring it. This was a chance to do a little of that. Read more
