Definitely worth noting that as the circle constricts and there’s less variables, the match quality takes off. It’s not surprising since that when the stakes are the highest. There’s potential here but those tools need a kick in the pants and there needs to be a easier line of comms from the casters to the… Read more
That’s my approach here too. I definitely want better character models and facial animation. But the trailer still managed to excite me without those things. There’s plenty of time to refine the technical aspects of the game but the thing I’m most happy about is that this felt like Shenmue even after all these years. Read more

Luke and I will put aside our differences to bond over a shared love of Yakuza, I imagine. Read more
I definitely hope to see character’s gain more fidelity and definition as development continues and don’t really begrudge anyone who can’t get past the visuals. But for me, when I look at the substance of the trailer it seems consistent with what the series has always offered. Read more

At least seven of Mania’s levels are reimaginings of zones from the previous games. They sometimes keep familiar set pieces, like Chemical Plant Zone’s infamous underwater block segment, but otherwise they’ll add new enemies and paths. That’s just for the first part of the zone. Read more

Record Keeper is a great game but there’s definitely been a lot of power creep. SSBs, BSSB to Overstrike. Now there’s chain and more. I still like it but I’ve had trouble leaping bad in the way I used to. There’s a lot to relearn. But it’s still pretty fun. Read more

Well, Eric, in order to cover game culture we often try to cover interesting or amusing human moments in addition to providing hard news or invetigative feature pieces. It’s a good reminder that players are crucial to games and that people are playing in a lot of different ways. Read more
I definitely see where you’re coming from. One thing I really enjoy about BF1 is that it’s pretty pure systemically. There wasn’t too much to learn or fuss over.
But specializations have also been with the series for more than a decade now so this isn’t exactly new territory. Bad Company 2 had them and so did BF3 and 4.… Read more
