During part of the Kerensky Offensive, the men refused to move from their trenches. The women of the Battalion of Death ran ahead. They never received backup though, and eventually had to retreat and cede the ground they gained. Read more

I will. Thus far, it’s standard stuff. Two grinding maps (low tier gold and EXP) and a small dungeon. You don’t really need the grinding maps, although the gold one definitely makes evolving weapons go faster. I’m interested to see about the prequel stuff. Read more

A good point. Thanks for bringing it up.

On that note, it’s important to get all of Alm’s buddies to a diverse set of base classes once they hit level three. Mage, archer, Pegasus Knight for Faye. Don’t wait. Read more

Awakening is very, very good. Not as mature in terms of what the plot sets out to do but it has a lot of great characters and some good combat. Just know that if you go from Awakening to Echoes, some of the core mechanics will be different. It makes Echoes a bit more tactical though, which is good. Read more

The bigger draw are the two dungeons you can unlock. The summoned allies end up being an “in case of emergency” type of thing but even then I’d advise against using them. Robs some of the fun. Read more

They last for a single turn and you get no experience for their kills since they act as ally units and not members of your own army. Read more

It’s challenging, yes. It also shares the same core loop of resource allocation, preservation, loss, and recover by means of returning to your last position. To say nothing of the same basic approach towards boss fights and level design. Read more

GTA is always hard to approach critically. San Andreas pretty successfully runs the gamut from street story to heist to comedy but still falls a little flat. I don’t quite know what the thesis is. IV compensated with a very biting narrative and clear message that, while powerful, ends up undercut by gameplay. Niko Read more

There is a single player mode, yeah. A bit of Nier meets Phantasy Star Online vibe. Hard to explain but very much a product of the early 2000s. Read more

I can’t say definitely if a blank card would avoid any issues but there’s no particular indication that the code or manufacturing of the chips itself is proprietary. After all, I could go home and make my own. Which would explain why the one seller got a DMCA notice regarding copyright IP instead of some other warning. Read more

If I was giving advice, I’d suggest you be wary of saving sympathy for corporations in general. Read more

No children or anything, if that’s what you’re asking. Some characters have romances but there’s not a wide spectrum like the more recent titles. Read more

It’s not too bad. You’ll mostly manage some weapons and do some forging to evolve them into higher levels. Changing class can cause some detouring though, as you can only do that at one of the various shrines located on the map or found in dungeons. Read more
