The recent slate of PS4 exclusives has been shockingly good. I’m curious as to whether that’s the new norm or we’re just witnessing a momentary golden age for that stuff.  Read more

That’s pretty accurate in my opinion. I wasn’t looking for Spider-Man to go full Red Dead, but the game doesn’t move much beyond the (quite solid) framework established by the Arkham series, which holds it back from being something truly special, at least when it comes to how the narrative and open world play off one Read more

Blows SM2 out of the water. Absolutely no competition.  Read more

I LOVE the new suit. You can switch back to the old one, as well as a lot of others throughout the game, but it’s far and away the coolest looking one.  Read more

What part gave you that impression? I definitely think it’s better than the first. Almost all of the slack from the original, which I didn’t even realize until going back and replaying some of it, is gone in the sequel. It feels like they took a classic car and replaced it top to bottom with brand new parts. Read more

I’ve gone through 1.5 controllers at this point so I’m due for another. It’s really frustrating how shoddy the design feels honestly. I know some people haven’t had trouble, but between the analog stick nubs rubbing through, broken trigger pins and on and off problems with Bluetooth connectivity I’ve struggled with Read more

Also Destiny

They did not. I’m old though and my friends are all too busy to ever visit so online only isn’t as big a knock as it used to be for me. Read more

One of the few things in the campaign’s favor is how much room it leaves for the next game in the sequence to make good on its promises (343's Jeff Easterling is saying Halo Infinite basically is Halo 6, but I’m still not sure exactly what that means in terms of the story).   Read more

Good point I misread! Still, I wouldn’t mind a god rush mode. Read more

Now playing

Here’s the teaser trailer showing green moon and not much else.

I can sympathize with that. I felt similarly about the RPG-lite elements in Child of Light, which wasn’t too far from my mind while playing Gris. At the same time the environments are beautiful to walk through and a lot of the platforming did involve chaining together different abilities in fun ways (jumping and Read more

To be honest I’m not surprised at all. Porn has been at the cutting edge of just about ever visual medium and people or bots or whoever are always trying to help it break into normie internet spaces.

I’m more just shocked that Sony apparently doesn’t have anyone on staff to open up its social spaces once a day and Read more

It’s definitely a nice game, and I mean that in the best of ways. Bit Kid did a tremendous job making Chasm feel so polished with such a small team and it’s perfect for a short summer deep dive into something very nostalgic and arcadey.

Like you said though—Dead Cells. Read more

It did! I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet but am hoping to by the weekend. It was a nice surprise to see it drop out of the blue. Read more

Yea it’s pretty discouraging. Dota 2 is one of my favorite games and it felt like the pro scene was on a good trajectory four or five years ago, but Valve never took on the responsibility of building out the kinds of support structure and sustainable institutions necessary to make it feel healthy and growing.

I fell off this game so hard but now it looks like they actually might add some interesting abilities (not to the skill tree, mind you, but better than nothing).  Read more
