I’ve stopped thinking these as fighting games for me they’re Fanservice games that have some basic fighting game mechanics. As with every Dragon Ball fighting game (before FighterZ) fighters will hate this, weebish otaku who just want to go Super Saiyan and blast Luffy’s stupid face however will likely love it. Read more

I am so conflicted by this game. Graphically, it’s beautiful and the game looks alright. However, it’s weird to see plastic-y Jump characters running around a realistic landscape. Seeing plastic looking Luffy fighting plastic looking Goku in a detailed and realistic looking metropolitan area feels weird. Read more

When Sony said that they were taking “deep dives” into four games, this is the kind of 20 minute coverage that I was expecting. They really are making a play for the Melee crew with the emphasis on history and streamedlined, fast gameplay (not to mention GameCube controllers once again!). Read more

I hope they take some effort to diversify the characters a bit. It’s been a while since I’ve played (wii version), but if I remember right fox, falco and wolf had basically the same moveset, as did Mario and Luigi. Maybe the two Links too, I honestly don’t remember.
