Ark: Survival Evolved's 'Pimp My Rex' Mod Sure Is A Thing

So you’ve tamed a dinosaur in the Godzilla of Steam dinosaur games, Ark: Survival Evolved. That’s cool, I guess. I’ll be honest with you, though: it’s looking a little bare. It’s looking a little... un-pimped.

Steam user Danco’s new Pimp My Rex mod is here to help you solve a problem you didn’t know you had. Your rex clearly—CLEARLY—needs some impractically spiky medieval armor. Why? Observe the following set of hypothetical (but entirely plausible) circumstances, as outlined by Danco:

“You like to party in some restricted dresscode clubs? Wanna take your Rex with you to see who’s got the biggest? Don’t forget to dress him as needed! LEATHER ARMOR, light, handmade, classy, your Rex has never been so Glamorous! Maybe you’re more roots, you like what’s from dark hidden place, you like to rave in da’ cave? Then no need to let your Rex out anymore, the CHITIN ARMOR was made for you! Show to those freaky blood eater who’s the Lords of the Underground! Or you’re more into something sharp, shiny, that turn those damn parasaurs into wildcat food? Then the METAL ARMOR is for you! Let’s make the meat back on the top of the foodchain!”

You have to admit, man’s got a point. Also your rex gets a pretty sizable armor boost, depending on which armor set you equip. Mainly, though, it’s all about that dinosaur rave cave club life.

You can grab the mod on Ark’s Steam Workshop.
