After nearly five years with an iPhone in my pocket, I bought an Android phone last week. A HTC One XL. It's a glorious phone, and I had been looking forward to providing a little more Android coverage on GAOTD, but seeing as I've gotten side-tracked playing old Lucasarts adventure games on the thing, I haven't had enough time to play new Android games. Sorry. Maybe next week.
I did, however, find the time to play Toybox, a game we actually featured last week because it had a brilliant trailer. While cartoon man doesn't make an appearance in the game, I'm pleased to say it's still an excellent iOS title, both because of its adorable art style ("Small Kid's Toys Come to Life") and its surprisingly challenging split-screen mechanic, which sees you controlling a shooter on the left and a Tetris-style puzzle game on the right.
I also like it's built-in freshness; there's one level to play when you buy the game, and it's the same level everyone else is playing. Next week? All-new level.
