Reading form an actual physical book can’t be beat for a lot of folks, but its undeniable that there is some direct benefits to going digital instead. You can carry around with you a whole library on a device the size of just one book. This means no eye strain from blue light shining at you and no distracting reflections making it impossible to see the words on the display.

The screen measures across at seven inches and you can choose between three different colors—black, jade, or raspberry. Its battery is long lasting, able to hold a charge for up to 12 weeks at a time.

Right now, Amazon has the Kindle Paperwhite on sale for as low at $135. Normally, you’d find this e-reader for $160, but the current 16% discount takes it down by $25. This is for the ad-supported model. If you don’t want to be greeted to the new shows playing on Prime Video every time you start it up, you can go for the model that disables ads for a little bit more cash up front. Luckily, this one is also on sale for $25 off. That one is usually priced at $180, but has come down to just $155.

On the Amazon product page, you’ll also notice an option for picking up the Kindle Paperwhite either with or without three months of Kindle Unlimited. This is Amazon’s subscription service that grants access to a huge library of over five million e-books. The thing is, there is no price difference between the models with or without the three months, making them free. You might as well opt for that one. After the trial period ends, you’ll be charged $12 per month going forward. If you find Kindle Unlimited isn’t your jam, you can always just cancel before the first payment hits.
