After a bit of a shake up in Japan’s weekly hardware contest, things return to “normal,” with the PSP and PlayStation 3 sitting atop the charts, Nintendo proudly taking the middle and one platform veering closer to obscurity.
This is the first week that the PSPgo managed to sell less than a thousand units in Japan, according to sale tracker Media Create’s numbers. That can’t be good. Admittedly, it’s a slow week across the board, but maybe a price drop is needed to keep this platform—which accounts for a wee 3.4% of all PSP sales this week—from falling even lower.
For the week of May 1o to May 16, here’s how the console war in Japan went down.
