Stop me if you've heard this one before, but the next Saints Row video game will tap the oral talents of one well-known porn star, one better-known professional wrestler and one Daniel Dae Kim.

THQ and developer Volition revealed some of the star talent performing acting duties in Saints Row: The Third, leading with actress Sasha Grey (The Girlfriend Experience, Entourage, Face Invaders 4) as Viola DeWynter, co-mastermind of a financial empire.

(Saints Row fans may recall the previous game's flirtation with porn starlet talent, when Tera Patrick joined the dev team as a "special producer"/pitch person for the game.)

Joining Grey will be pro wrestler Hulk Hogan as Angel De LaMuerte, a... pro wrestler. And returning to the Saints Row universe is Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hawaii Five-0) who reprises his role as Johnny Gat.

If you're going to Comic-Con, there's a chance you might be able to rub elbows with Grey and Hogan, who will be signing autographs on Thursday, July 21 at the Saints Row booth (#5145). See you there?

I'm going to give SR one more try. The first came out and left me blah - just a GTA clone, I thought. SR2 was, I thought, a bit sloppy and over the top.

But the gen of GTA has been...not as fun. Still excellent, certainly, and continues to be a marvel in every way. But when you're in a world where you can go anywhere and do anything to anyone (and have access to a ponderous arsenal, to boot), there needs to be a touch of humor in it. GTA3 had it. Vice City certainly had it, and San Andreas had it in spades. After the game was beaten, I would occasionally unwind by trying to make it to all three cities while carrying at least 4 stars on my wanted level, imagining also the headlines in the papers the next day. (My dream - to have Sherrif John Bunnell from "World's Wildest Police Chases" narrate two hours of such mayhem).

GTA4 was The Godfather - deserving of all the praise and still a landmark. But sometimes, I just want crack up while I wreak havoc - I want Scarface. Here's hoping SR3 does it.
