Japanese model builder むむむノ53 has ripped a veritech fighter straight out of Macross/Robotech and brought it into the real world, cel-shading and all.

While he didn't built the entire model, the paintjob he's pulled off to mimic the animated look of the show (and the additions like dramatic hands and a Lynn Minmay) is amazing.

There's a disassembled shot below that shows how he did it.

Every Robotech/Macross post in Kotaku makes me deader inside.

Harmony Gold needs to be put out of business. Their strong arming of the rights they earned dubiously in the 80's is still out there, stymieing TV show, Movie and figurine releases in America. And everybody has to buy them straight out of Japan or risk going through piracy channels to obtain disc/toys/figurines. Absolutely shameful.
