The patch that presumably will solve MLB 2K10's connectivity problems in online multiplayer has been finished and submitted for certification on the Xbox 360, meaning the fix should be arriving shortly.

There are no details on what the patch will entail but a multiplayer fix has got to be among them. I can suggest a ton of AI fixes, especially in My Player regarding when your manager lifts you if you're a pitcher. Pasta Padre notes the fielder arm strength maybe should be backed down and I concur. I've seen - and benefited from - a lot of bullet throws from a shortstop ranging into shallow left field.

No word on a patch yet for the PS3. I don't know if its players have seen the same troubles with ranked matches - this workaround (not really a workaround, just something that keeps you from being frozen in the matchup screen) published by 2K Sports describes Xbox 360 controls. 2K Sports knows its greatest constituency is on the 360 and will take care of that first, but it'd be poor form to publish no gameplay-refining patch at all for the PS3 base.

DISCUSSION

Funny I made a topic two months ago on the 2K forum's and asked if there was any way this game wouldn't be a trainwreck on release.

There was a good few replies, most saying that this year things were going to change, the game should be a huge improvement etc. etc.

It was as soon as I saw the list of features that I knew this game would be shipped broken. It's not physically possible to take a broken game (MLB2K9), get rid of all the bugs, add online franchises, and then add a My Player Mode in the course of 10-12 months and have the game fully working on release.

Best believe there will be more glitches to be reported for the next few months, probably two to three patches released, and then there might be a decent game at the end of the day.

So I will do what I have promised myself to do anytime a 2K sports game is involved... Wait 6 months till after release and buy it used for half price. I came to this conclusion after paying 120 dollars for my NBA 2K10 C.E., I've never seen a game released in such a poor state.

What happened 2K?? You guys used to make awesome sports games, MLB 2K on the Dreamcast, NBA 2K (still a decent series, but losing steam), NFL 2K is classic, shit even NHL 2K used to be great..
