Be excellent to each other and welcome back to our daily open thread, dudes.

Two movies came out this past weekend. One, New Mutants, only came out in theaters, forcing folks to brave movie theater crowds during a global pandemic in order to be horribly disappointed. The other, Bill and Ted Face the Music, launched in theaters and on-demand simultaneously, giving fans terrified of hanging out in a crowd right now a chance to enjoy a most triumphant sequel. Nearly three decades since Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter still embody the joy and positivity of these two dumb dudes. It ends a bit abruptly and the duo’s daughters could have been more fleshed out, but it left me with a huge smile on my face.

How about you folks? How’s it going?

I wanted to watch this, but my partner hasnt seen either of the other Bill and Ted movies, so we watched the first one instead. I haven’t seen it in many years, but I think I prefer the second one between the two.

For the next console generation, I was going to get an xbox series x, but now I’m having doubts. I’m considering building a new pc instead. I’ve built pcs before, so I’m not worried about the technical parts or putting it together or anything. My main concern is wondering if it’s the right move. My best friend has been in the xbox landscape for a while now, while I haven’t been. I know I can use xbox game pass to still play together with him, without having to worry about being walled into a garden. Xbox’s message of playing their games anywhere anyway really speaks to me right now. I also know though, my biggest usage nowadays is couch gaming (but that’s what the steam link can cover).
