Pokémon Crystal is coming to the 3DS eShop on January 26. It’s the third game in the Gold/Silver set (which both became available in September) and will be compatible with the Pokémon Bank as well as have wireless trading and battling with the other 3DS Pokémon games.

Call it sacrilege if you want, but I just have the hardest time going back to the Gen I & II games because everything’s so slow. Last year I got Yellow on VC and played through most of it (mainly so I could finally do the Mew glitch and play through the gyms with it, which was...surprisingly underwhelming) but gave up 2/3 through because I’ve been spoiled by all of the many quality of life improvements that came after these games. I do miss the amazing time systems in Gen II so I might give Crystal a shot, but I’d probably just replay my copy of Soul Silver instead.

Sidenote: Turns out Mew’s no fun to use when you don’t have quality TMs to use on it, so I think I replaced it with a Haunter or something common like that.
