The guy who produced Avatar is adapting the classic manga Battle Angel Alita to the big screen, because that’s certainly what we needed, and there’s a new trailer for it.
Although Avatar writer James Cameron wrote the screenplay (argh), Robert Rodriguez, who directed Sin City, will be directing Alita: Battle Angel. Cameron has said that the movie will take the manga’s “spine story.”
Sure, the new Fullmetal Alchemist movie proved that not all anime/manga live-action movies are determined to suck. And yet, this trailer smells of whatever made the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie not good. The environmental designs are gorgeous. I’m a little worried about the dialogue.
