Dragon Ball's Newest Super Saiyan Name Was a Mistake

The newest Super Saiyan form is Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Which sounds silly, yes. That’s why, as Kotaku previously reported, it was changed in the manga. Now the most recent Dragon Ball Super is following suit.

As mentioned before, a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is when a Saiyan gets the power of a Super Saiyan God and then becomes a Super Saiyan. The result is Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (スーパー サイヤ人 ゴッド スーパー サイヤ人) or SSGSS. The form was revealed in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.

In the most recent Dragon Ball Super episode, Vegeta faces off against Cabba and then transforms.

Cabba goes, “Blue...”

Here, Vegeta says, “This is the latest [form] Super Saiyan Blue.” Nothing more is explained and it’s as though that SSGSS nonsense never existed. After that, Cabba says, “Super Saiyan Blue?”

Vegeta then tells Cabba if he trains hard enough, he can reach his full potential and transform into Super Saiyan Blue. Vegeta then beats the crap out of him.

In a manga issue last fall, Goku asked Vegeta if they could do something about the long Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan moniker, and Whis replied, “How about...Super Saiyan Blue?” Looks like that is now the official, preferred form in anime, and the previous SSGSS naming was simply too ridiculous and confusing.
