I Have Failed To Impress The Gods

I thought I'd be showing off a thrilling victory to you today, Kotaku readers. A five-minute saga where a Norse warrior woman defeats a gigantic winter elemental as a taste of a promising indie game yet to come. But, no, I stand before you defeated. Now I want to play Jotun even more.

The game in question takes a few liberties with Norse mythology, as in there's no such thing as a purgatory in Asgardian cosmology. At least that's what Jotun creator Will Dubé told when I saw the game at PAX East. He also described the game as a blend of exploration and combat, in which main character Thora would find new items that grant special powers to aid in her quest to the Viking heaven of Valhalla.

You'll get your own chance to try and brawl your way into the gods' favor later this fall when Jotun hits Steam.
