@Syril: Insomniac did used to make the spyro games, and they were extremely fun when they made it. he used to be a fun naive little kid of a dragon who was just getting used to his powers. now that insomniac dropped it and gave it to some other company, they tried to make him into some badass monster fighter, and are continuing to ruin it's former glory.

@VenomIreland is good at KZ2, is momentarily pleased.: the only ones i liked were the first one and ripto's rage. (because i never played 3) i played the newest spyro game and it's mechanics are ruining the franchise. he's doing all these wierd aerial combos and all sorts of other complications, like lightning shooting, fire, earth and ice attacks, which in most cases are great, but it doesnt quite work with spyro.

Haha this just seems funny to me. Especially after how poorly the dragonball movie did. 4.5 million first weekend on a 45 million dollar budget. Good job hollywood lets see how you do with spyro.

@snakepliskin: Honestly, Dragonball wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen. I went in with insanely low expectations and was actually rather surprised at how OK the movie was. It was by no means great, but they could've messed it up 100x worse than they did.

I don't think any live action anime movie will ever do well here. Video game movies have been faring pretty good at the box office recently (Resident Evil and Silent Hill being the standouts) but Speed Racer and Dragonball really underwhelmed here. I think the upcoming Akira and Robotech movies will do just as bad, regardless of quality. There just isn't enough Americans who care about anime for these movies to be successful.

I knew it was going to be bad the moment I decided to see it.

What I hadn't expect it to be was that bad.

It was garbage.

It wasn't even tacky like the first Street Fighter movie.

Unrealistic character-development, complete stray from the original story, story-jumps and plotholes the size of Piccolo's airship.

The only plus was it was nicely filmed.

But the script was pure shit. One of the absolute worst movies I've ever seen.

@FanBuoy: Hence the "mediocre". I found the (first two) books to be pretty cliché and unoriginal, but still rather entertaining. The ending of each book and the Stronghammer parts of the second were by far my favorite, which made it just a little annoying that the movie redid the ending and (if I remember correctly) did something different to Roran that seemed to eliminate the possibility of doing the Stronghammer thing next time round.

@Captain McNinja: this is kinda off topic, but do you see the front of spyro's stomach? do dragon's underbellies usually look so armored and what not? i always thought that was supposed to be their weak spot, and they changed that statistic just like all the statistics that were changed in Twilight.
