That's like trying to make a good Kirby, Little Big Planet, Sonic, Alien Hominid or Lego based movie with live action characters.

I don't think any live action anime movie will ever do well here. Video game movies have been faring pretty good at the box office recently (Resident Evil and Silent Hill being the standouts) but Speed Racer and Dragonball really underwhelmed here. I think the upcoming Akira and Robotech movies will do just as bad, regardless of quality. There just isn't enough Americans who care about anime for these movies to be successful.

I knew it was going to be bad the moment I decided to see it.
What I hadn't expect it to be was that bad.
It was garbage.
It wasn't even tacky like the first Street Fighter movie.
Unrealistic character-development, complete stray from the original story, story-jumps and plotholes the size of Piccolo's airship.
The only plus was it was nicely filmed.
But the script was pure shit. One of the absolute worst movies I've ever seen.

Despite the fact it borrowed off every fantasy story known to man, I found the books quite bearable.
The only thing that redeemed the movie a little bit was Jeremy Irons as Brom.

If you look closely, you can see Mufasa in the clouds behind him.
